Gasser GmbH was founded in 1989 as a service provider for foundries. The company quickly developed a high level of expertise, specialising in the development, quality control and repair of cast parts. Gasser primarily operates within vehicle construction at its sites in Pfaffenhofen and Steyr.
Gasser was seeking quality and precision within its warehouse operations when it asked us to introduce a Warehouse Management System (WMS) at its Steyr warehouse with 3000 storage locations. We consistently focussed on optimising processes and boosting efficiency. The company required precise overviews of stock and qualitative assessments as a basis for invoicing for warehouse services. We sought to provide a quick and easy solution that achieved the following: A higher level of process reliability, stock management at storage-location level with quantity precision, improved traceability and fewer inventory discrepancies.
To realise all the requirements for the optimisation and modernisation of the warehouse, Gasser GmbH opted for our WMS Series 2 software. Hand-held terminals ensure that the optimisation potential offered by the WMS is reached in full. We also took on labelling for the warehouse locations. This intelligent overall solution enables reliable, transparent and efficient warehouse management plus evaluation of stock movements and time in storage.
