If in the warehouse the call is for greater performance at large lifting heights, this is where the pedestrian trucks of the EJC Series 2 from Jungheinrich come into their own.
The new EJC pedestrian truck of Series 2 from Jungheinrich was designed for demanding task profiles in the warehouse and is available in three lifting capacity classes. Whereas the EJC 212 can lift up to 1,200 kilograms, the EJC 214 and the EJC 216 manage 1,400 and 1,600 kilograms respectively. The truck combines high performance with a big residual lifting capacity at lifting heights of up to 5,350 millimetres and long operating times. The Jungheinrich pedestrian truck can at the same time be manoeuvred more safely and more easily thanks to the possibility of also shunting it with the control shaft raised. With an overall width of only 800 millimetres, electric pedestrian trucks are also suitable for operation in very confined spaces.
To move the loads rapidly and efficiently, the EJC series is fitted with a high-performance drive motor based on 24-volt three-phase ac technology. The optimised efficiency of this motor ensures high speeds and corresponding accelerations in all situations. The encapsulation in accordance with protection class IP 54 reduces vulnerability to environmental influences such as for example humidity and dust, and increases the reliability of the components and cable harnesses.
Sensitive lifting system: Easier stacking of heavy loads
The modified lifting system makes it possible for the operator of the pedestrian truck to raise the load especially exactly and sensitively. This significantly facilitates stacking heavy loads of up to 1,600 kilograms in narrow racks. Not only are the loads lifted especially rapidly to lifting heights of up to 5,350 millimetres, but a special feature of the new EJC series 2 also lies in the closed-loop speed control of the hydraulic system.
The loads are at the same time lifted unusually quietly and sensitively. The pedestrian truck derives it energy from batteries with capacities up to 375 Ah. These can be recharged at any 230-volt socket with an optional integrated battery charger.
Optimised traction: no slippage of the drive wheel
Jungheinrich ProTrac optimises the traction of the drive wheel. Here a shock absorber system in the supporting wheel prevents slippage of the drive wheel on uneven ground. When stacking or unstacking loads, from a lifting height of 1,800 millimetres ProTrac ensures a firm stance on all four wheels through the hydraulic locking device of the supporting wheel. High residual lifting capacities are reached with the torsion-free clear-view hoist frame. This means that maximum use can be made of the available storage capacities, also in rack compartments at a height of more than five metres. The laterally offset control shaft makes for good visibility past the side of the load. As the control shaft is connected at the bottom, the resultant greater distance between the operator and the chassis reduces the risk of foot injuries.
Greater safety: no uncontrolled movements of the truck
On uphill and downhill gradients, the EJC 212/214/216 runs at a constant speed. When approaching an uphill gradient the control and drive become effective immediately. This prevents the truck from rolling backwards or from executing other uncontrolled movements.
